Multicultural Children's Book Day 2019 TimTimTom Sponsor

Teachers, Bloggers, and Librarians came out in full force to review their favorite Multicultural Books, we were very lucky to have these amazing children’s book connaisseurs tell us what they think of TimTimTom Books.

Once again Kudos to Mia Wenjen from Pragmatic Mom and Valerie Burdayr from Jump into a Book the amazing MCBD Founders. Also, a very special thanks to the amazing Rebecca Flansburg from Franticmommy for keeping everyone informed, organized, shared and simply always in a good mood.

MCBD’s mission is to raise awareness of the ongoing need to include diversity in kids’ literature while working diligently to get more of these types of books into the hands of young readers, parents, and educators.

We still have much work to do on educating our children about the broader world around us. It’s a large part of why we read as much as we do. Yes, it’s for the love of the story, but also about the ability to see ourselves through the eyes of another and through that, generate compassion and empathy for others… I have found bilingual books to be woefully lacking so I was thrilled when @readyourworldmcbd asked me to review @timtimtombooks as a part of Multicultural Children’s Book Day 2019. TimTimTom produces bilingual books that are not mere computer translations! They are original stories and you are able to personalize the book. We loved the original storyline. For my review, I went ahead and ordered one for my daughter’s upcoming 5th birthday. The boys and I previewed it and they loved it! We loved the original storyline (I cringe at reading Dr. Seuss in Spanish) and I know that she’ll love being the hero of her own story. Living By The Page

If you have a child that is bilingual or has two languages in the home this is the a company you NEED to consider purchasing books from. All of their books are offered in two languages. Bilingual and multilingual books are truly hard to come by and Tim Tim Tom takes their books to the next level by allowing you to personalize them to your child…

Since you can personalize your book I designed my character off of him and chose Italian. This is a book that I am over the moon to bring into my classroom because I have a student who speaks Italian and they love to share their language with us!  Eat Pray Travel Teach

I was most intrigued that the bilingual stories from Tim Tim Tom allowed for personalization. Not only is the text in the language of choice, but so is the character. I was able to customize the little girl in the story to look much like the little girl in my heart!

I had the book shipped directly to her and added a personal dedication to her in both languages. Her father shared with me that he read it with her when it arrived and that she looked at it herself throughout the day. “This girl is me! I just like Auntie Eva. She’s so nice.”  Eva Varga

Wild Writing Life

I ordered for my son a book in German – a language that he is starting to learn intensively since starting the German Kindergarten… I was impressed by the quality of the paper and illustrations while my 3 yo son had a lot of fun to see himself part of a story with a very important role to play. Reading to him in German, which is not his mother tongue, was a lot of fun, as he enjoyed being told what he did in the book and what fantastic adventures expected him. Wild Writing Life

It’s refreshing to find dual language books for children these days since there are many immigrants in North America. I wish I had had such books when I was growing up so that my mother who did not speak English could still read books to me with an Italian version in it.

I decided to have a book created for my nephew…in both English and Italian. He was thrilled to see a book with his name.

The illustrations are colorful and bright, perfect for this age range. The world of sea creatures added a magical element to the story…He loved the part about the dolphin tickling his toes. My nephew wanted to read it again and again. He sees this book as his book because it has his name in it and he associates himself with the character.TimTimTom books are perfect if you’re looking for that unique gift for that special child in your life! I am really excited to join with @readyourworldmcbd for #ReadYourWorld. We had the honor of working with @timtimtombooks. TimTimTom Books creates customizable books for children in two languages. We chose English/French, but you can choose from one or two languages, English, Spanish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Russian. My Zoe loved seeing her name on the cover of a book AND we enjoyed reading it! I’m hoping it will further aid our learning… Mom of Wild Things
